Got Something To Say? Here is your Chance!

Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking of ways recently to fix up the store, make it easier for everyone to shop at and make it easier for everyone to find the right products. I know in the past (and sometimes still :/ ) that the site might be a bit messy or confusing, but it’s hard for me to find out whats confusing from your side due to I see the site every day.
To make it short, How do you feel about The Mission Boutique’s Site?
What do you love, What do you hate? Do you follow the RSS or the Newsletter Everyweek? Do you love or hate our sales? What would you do if you were running the site?
I’m going to keep this completely unfiltered and allow everyone to speak their mind (unless you post something unneededly offensive or illegal). Of course I’ll be able to respond, but I want it so our site can improve and so you can buy everything you want from us.
Last thing, Remember to leave your e-mail!!! If you contribute something good to this open forum, I will send you a coupon code you can use on any order!Promotion is now over! Thanks for the support from everyone who posted!

Your store kicks ass, I always look like the belle of the ball when I wear my MISSION outfits, but I would like to see more angles of the clothing (side view and back view). Also please put my outfits together for me, I do not have the time to match up purses, shoes and jewelry.

It’d be nice to have more of a selection to go with the seasons i guess (more pants in the winter and skirts in the summer or something)?
Skirt section seems to be from one extreme to another, like… there’d be a nice short skirt, then an extremly long skirt. No inbetween (mid-length, below the knee.. and if there is, its either vinyl or leather, pvc).
Dress section is similar too.
Might be nice if there was a section for the “business goth” out there but thats really rare for any website. More than average looking skirts or pants, still can pass for gothic or techno but won’t attract too much negative attention on the streets… just below knee lengh pleated skirts with a gawth school girl flare, pants with a bellbottom flare.
A sleepwear section would be a dream come tru also, its very hard to find anything punk/goth/techno worthy to sleep in, other than rock shirts or something?
Weather related outerwear, umbrellas with freaky prints on it, raincoats with the same.
I like how you’re going with the sales though, noticed gloves and scarves were on the cheap.
Well, i know my suggestions are extreme and probably not doable and i understand.. it never hurts to ask.

Let me first say, I love your site. The navigation is clear – so you never feel “lost.”
You customer service is AMAZING. I ordered some capris, and called to ask about them. The girl I spoke to was SO nice. I hung up the phone thinking – Wow! She talked to me like I was her best friend! I practically wanted to buy her a beer! I was very impressed. Whoever you are: You’re awesome!
I was actually hoping you guys had a store in my area (North Texas) that I could check out!
There are a few things about the site that I would change (I’m a graphic designer – so I’m a picky brat).
I would delete subcategories. IE: “Hair Products & Wigs” You already know what you’re going to be looking at, so you don’t NEED: Hair Clips – Wigs – Hair Extensions etc… And chances are, if you display them all together on one page, people will be more likely to buy things they hadn’t really thought of in the first place. (Like when you walk into Wal-Mart. You go in for a pair of socks, and walk out with $75 worth of things that you just “had to have.”) Which will boost your profits like crazy.
Design-wise: I would split your lines. I know you cater to two different genres, so it’s hard to design a site that fits both. So I would have a main page that had a split screen. One side retro/rockabilly, with a design that screams classic. Something exciting – ALONG THE LINES of: http://www.lolitagirlclothing.com/
Their site’s pretty sloppy (referring to layout & navigation) – but has elements that visually stimulate you.
…And the other side with a dark punk/vinyl design (like http://www.misfits.com).
You could give them your own names to. Like: “Sexy Cats & Kittens” and “Rock Zombies” …I don’t know. You catch my drift.
All merchandise would be listed in the navigation bar on the left, so it’s still one store. But they’d be:
Sex Cats & Kittens
Guys
Gals
Belts…
Rock Zombies
Guys
Gals
Belts…
Each retro links would carry the rockabilly design, and the punk pages would all be dark. So it would SEEM like two stores in one.
Your prices aren’t too bad, they could be lower. But I’ve noticed ANYTHING retro is ridiculously priced. I mean really, $175 for an everyday dress!? I think it’s very hard to find a retro store that you can actually afford to buy more than one thing.
You have a pretty good selection, but I would like to see more. Since I love the way you guys handle your customers, I’d rather come to you for all my clothing than go anywhere else. But there isn’t a vast range of choices. I know some of those brands (like Lucky 13) are very expensive to stock… but they don’t all have to be “name brand.” They can be everyday items that you’d find at Ross or Target. Like a plaid button down t-shirt. Not very popular, so they’re cheap – but they look great tied up with a pair of capris.
I’m not sure if that helps you or not. It’s just one gals opinion.
You guys are great! …I hope to see a store down here in “Hicksville” someday!

Much love from Texas.

You’re site it amazingg, I love browsing through it and seeing the range of different unique styles. I really like that you have corset tops from Kimikal but I really wish you had them in a size 32 whether it be 32A, B, or C. I also wish you had a wider range of clothes from Lip Service. But I do enjoy everything you are doing with the site especially having jewelr, and shoes to go along with the clothes! And it’s really exciting getting coupons via e-mail :)

I love seeing the newsletter in my email with sale items. It makes me come to your site and check on things and I always see more things I want. So that’s definitely effective marketing. Your sales are wonderful.
I do wish there was a wider selection of guys clothing in the punk/rockabilly vein for my boyfriend. What you carry now is great but we would love to see more.
Keep up the fantastic job!

So I agree with the previous post. I love your clothing, but I am a mom of 3 and barely have time to get myself dressed. It would be helpful to have more outfits put together, so I could run in, run out.
All and All this store rocks, and it is nice to show my true self though your clothing!

Your site is generally awesome. I love the brands that you carry, because many are hard to find. I LOVE Paper Doll Productions clothing, but wish you had a greater selection. I do think that all of the subcategories for the clothing is a bit unneeded, particularly because the selections in each subcategory are not very numerous. It would be cool if you were able to zoom in on the pictures and look at the clothing from a variety of angles. Your customer service is amazing and I really appreciate that. Thanks!

I purchased off of you guys several years ago when the site was a lot darker and featured some out of stock items due to stock updates not being done fast enough from what it seemed…but I have to say with this new & improved site things are A LOT easier!
The item stock is immediately pulled when you add to cart which is fantastic. Not only that, but the search is easier to use & overall navigation within sections is a lot cleaner but I do agree with the above it can be fixed up a little more but it is a BIG improvement from the old site!
I do hope you continue to carry more fetish/vinyl in addition to more casual wear as it seems harder & harder to find a decent selection – I know my local alt stores stopped carrying it.
Keep up the good work – I was always pleased with the prompt delivery of past orders!

I’ll be staying anonymous on this, mainly because ill lose my job if I tell you who I work for ;) Heres some advice so my company has some healthy competition.
First off, with your images on your site. I would say to either stick with the images you are provided from the clothing brands or use only pictures you take. If you do the first one, have higher-res pictures. It looks like you keep saving them again and again, which destroys the quality of the pictures over time. If you use your own pictures, get different models and take better pictures. Too many of them are blurry or portray the model in a bad light. We know from other pictures that the red-head model you have is cute, but some pictures, with the shadowing, makes her look like a different person.
Second advice I would give is lower your prices. Everything is a good 10-20% higher than us and your other competition. The only thing that you succeed on with prices is your 50% off sales, but I’m not sure if you are selling anything except whats 50% off.
I like what you are doing with social networking or whatever its called. Most companies that sell what we sell are still very old-school and have no clue how to advertise online. Maybe try to infuse the APIs of these services a bit more though in-order to make it feel like they are more connected.
Thats all I can think of, so good luck and hope you last this economic crisis!

I just found your store online, and was VERY impressed with the number of items that you offer. Way more than alot of other sites that sell much of the same type of items. The 50% off sales are fantastic. A great way to draw the shopper into digging deeper into your store and finding more great items leading to other purchases, which is GREAT because you carry so much stuff on one site it’s easy to find what you were looking for…like the other guy put it: “…Like when you walk into Wal-Mart. You go in for a pair of socks, and walk out with $75 worth of things that you just ‘had to have.’ ” .
The photos could be a little sharper, and adding a few more angles to some of the shots would be a big plus.
Also, putting a ‘brand fitting guide’ on your site would be enormously helpful showing which brands are a slimmer cut, or a larger cut for it’s tagged size, and which run true-to-size. For instance, I know Lucky 13 brand is a slimmer cut clothing line, as an example.
And the same thing for the shoe brands. It would make a much easier shopping experience KNOWING your purchase is going to fit leading to less returns/exchanges resulting in a happier return customer for future purchases.
One of which…….will be myself!
